The Kraken entered the NHL as its 32nd franchise with zero retail infrastructure and one shot at their launch. Climate Pledge Arena draws 1.7 to 1.9 million visitors a year, and they needed a full retail presence ready to capture it on opening night, from a flagship team store to kiosks fans could reach without leaving their section. Every fixture had to take NHL game-day traffic and then reconfigure when the arena flips to a concert the next night.
We designed and built the whole program in our own shop, in hemlock wood and powder-coated steel, so one identity carries across every location.
The Lair anchors it: a 5,000 square foot flagship with dedicated hat rooms, jersey walls, and double-sided entry displays.
Three atrium mini stores and six kiosks put merchandise within reach of every section, some permanent, some portable so they deploy for game days and pack away for concerts. Mobile fixtures and modular walls let staff reconfigure between games, and the materials take arena traffic without wearing down.
The Kraken opened their first NHL season with a complete retail program: a flagship store, three mini stores, and six kiosks ready for game one. The partnership has kept growing since, reaching fans year-round at the Community Iceplex and a store near the Space Needle, most recently with a 17'6" Jersey Highlight Wall.
