THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Logistics Coordinator is a detail-oriented, self-starting, shipping expert who can juggle multiple, complex projects and shipping assignments. This position is also responsible for optimizing logistics processes to increase efficiency through continuous improvement, while maintaining the highest level of customer service in a fast-paced team environment.

POSITION

The Logistics Coordinator to execute all logistics and ensure that day-to-day export and import processes with our China factory run smoothly. The Logistics Coordinator manages and builds relationships involving vendors, clients, brokers, and freight forwarders. Outstanding customer service skills, flexibility, and attention to detail are critical. They will be responsible for negotiating discount rates and renewing yearly contracts while keeping the best interests of Lotus United in mind.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor and track all shipments from production ready date posted to delivery.
Work with factory to optimize container utilization.
Negotiate with freight forwarders on pricing for international and domestic freight.
Manage international air, ocean shipments, and multimodal and domestic trucking.
Identify and maintain HTS classification for new tariffs and classification changes.
Review detailed documents and process transactions related to air and ocean imports and exports.
Provide a high level of customer service while working within a demanding environment.
Develop and maintain trusting relationships with customers in various operating divisions and subsidiaries.
Resolve problems that could delay the timely release or movement of freight.
Renew yearly contracts and negotiating preferable rates with freight forwarders.
Prepare, analyze, and/or submit documentation to the appropriate parties (freight forwarders, brokers, clients) to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to CBP and transportation.
Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers and other service providers to ensure that agents exceed the customer’s service requirements.
Resolve billing issues, coordinate post entry activity on behalf of Lotus United
Responsible for continuous improvement of logistics processes to increase efficiency.
Accompany Account Executives on customer calls that require complex shipping, distribution, and kitting/fulfillment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of logistics experience in international (specifically China) and domestic environments
Strong knowledge of international business practices and export/import process documentation and language
Self-directed and able to meet deadlines.
Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
Results Oriented: Focuses effort on meeting or exceeding business goals and expectations.
Problem solver who can anticipate, identity and resolve issues that may come their way.
Accountability: Accepts responsibility for actions taken and can be relied upon to keep commitments
Experience with Basecamp project management software a plus
Working fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
