Universal CityWalk Hollywood draws more than 11 million visitors a year, and every one of them is choosing between world-class entertainment options. The NBA's first West Coast flagship had to compete in that arena. The brief was not to build another store, but to create an 11,000 SF destination capable of stopping foot traffic, extending engagement, and turning casual visitors into loyal fans.
Working with Lids, we delivered full design-build services from concept through completion. The journey unfolds across three zones: the Immersion Zone opens with large-scale custom art by Victor Solomon, the Interactive Experience Zone streams real-time NBA content, and the Custom Lab lets fans personalize gear on-site. Basketball court-inspired lighting built into the ceiling carries the game overhead.
The store holds more than 3,000 SKUs while maintaining clarity, flow, and a cohesive industrial palette of polished concrete, exposed ceilings, and refined steel. It functions as both a high-performing sales floor and a cultural destination, setting the standard for NBA retail on the West Coast.
