Copper Mountain has paid tribute to the history of Camp Hale* by carrying the name into a few areas of commerce and community within their resort. You can prepare yourself for a cold day on the mountain by gearing up at Camp Hale Outfitters, or after cutting a few turns on the slopes, you can drop in for a hot cup of coffee at Camp Hale Coffee.

Lotus United was proud to add to the Camp Hale legacy by helping with the re-model design and we are thrilled with how it turned out. We’re even more stoked to be a part of the story of Camp Hale. With a great sense of taste, and a nod to history Camp Hale now provides the ski community with a charming place to warm up after a long day on the mountain.

*In 1942, Camp Hale was built as a training ground for the 10th Mountain Division for the U.S. Army. Soldiers were trained in climbing, Alpine and Nordic skiing. These men were tasked with learning to live in frigid temperatures, while improving their combat readiness and survival tactics, for the war in Europe. The 10th Mountain division was deployed and had success pushing north from Italy to Austria, in some of the roughest terrain of this theatre.

Post war, the Camp Hale training area in Colorado became an area for recreational activity and would become one of the core locations for the snow industry.

With a huge range of items being sold to general customers, skiers and snowboarders alike. The Copper Mountain Outfitters store needed to be set up in a way that guest flow was optimized and allowed for easy entry and flow from retail to guest services to create an elevated customer experience.
